D (elayed) O (nset) M (uscle) S (oreness) 😳💪👎 Many a times it happens that some workouts take the life outta you and you aren't really prepared for your next workout. Why this happens so ?
Your previous work out was too reagourous and your muscles stiffness didn't go away after few or many hours or even after a day or two. And the soreness is usually felt may be at times 24 to 48 hours after your workout.
WHAT CAUSES IT ?
It can be due to a new workout regime introduced to the body which can be taxing on your body and even due to the exercise which induces muscles damage.
HOW TO DEAL WITH IT ?
If you are a beginner then do not jump into new programming suddenly. Take your sweet time , get familiar with the exercises and try helping yourself growing with them. Exclude the exercise which gives you DOMS on frequent basis. NO PAIN NO GAIN doesn't mean that you struggle even to get up for your next training session. Soreness is a different thing but altogether getting bummed and thinking pain causes gains is not a necessary approach you need to follow. You can't avoid soreness but you can program your workout session accordingly to help you go through it , enjoy it and recovering on time too. NUTRITION can be a cause too , cause if you are low on your macros or is not able to cover up your protein , carbs and fats ratio , you will be in big time trouble, not only with your gains but with your recovery periods too.
